Originally built as Altoona’s first library building (at least the first one that wasn’t a converted house), this 1980’s building served that purpose for around 15 years before the library outgrew it and moved to their current location on 8th Avenue. Then, the building was converted for use as the City of Altoona Police Station, and served this purpose from the late 1990s until they put it up for auction in 2021.
In this project, we took a 5,000 square foot single-user building, and subdivided it for use as multiple commercial offices. We included several shared common amenities in the layout including a conference room, breakroom, lobby, and bathrooms. We are very happy to share the space with Be Well Pediatrics, Healing Rock Counseling, and Justified Beauty.
