Why adaptive reuse?
Did you know the construction and operation of buildings is responsible for 41% of all primary energy use and 48% of all carbon emissions? By adapting old buildings for new uses, we can capture and redeploy the energy that was used to create those buildings years ago; by sourcing sustainable materials, reusing deconstructed materials, adding daylighting, and investing in renewable energy sources, we make these buildings efficient for years to come. After all, the greenest building is the one already built.
